SISU was formed in Shanghai, China
in 2003. The initial SISU group consisted of a small number of expat
cyclists, who got together on a regular basis to share their collective
interest in cycling.
Finding places to ride the bicycle in busy Shanghai
was the first priority. Starting from the first Sunday rides around the
busy streets of Pudong, the group now has a number of regular cycling
routes that are used on a weekly basis to provide recreational and sport
fitness riding. Each route can cater for the needs of the riders and
vary in length from 25km to 100km.
In addition SISU has established a number of 'Escape' packages, offering lifestyle getaways for all the family. With optional cycling, these 'Escapes' provide ideal opportunities to leave the often hectic city life and explore some of the great landmarks in China. Often in a group of 6 people or more, the getaways are designed one trip at a time in order to satisfy the general interests of the group.
Over the past two years SISU have organized a number of trips to Chongming Island (just two hours travelling from Pudong by car and ferry), Qingyang (in Guangdong province, south China) and Beijing (the Great Wall expedition). These Escapes will be repeated in the future along with other planned trips to the Bamboo Forests in Anji (3 hours driving from Shanghai) and the Mongolian grass planes.
Of particular interest to SISU and its members is the promotion of safer cycling. Because we take this statement very seriously, SISU proved to be a reliable source of quality cycles, accessories and components coupled with the provision of a higher level of customer care, service and advice over the years.
The SISU retail
store provides high quality cycling goods and services
to both local and International customers. Export facilities
to other countries are available and SISU welcomes
all who need help, including
distribution companies.
